Black-necked Grebe
The Black-necked Grebe is a small grebe which in its summer plumage has beautiful golden tufts of feathers on its face contrasting with its black head and neck. It has a steep forehead making its head look peaked and a stunning red eye.

The Black-necked Grebe can be seen all year round in the UK on small lakes and lochs, reservoirs and sheltered estuaries and coasts but it is a rare breeding bird and an uncommon winter visitor.
