Dunlin
The Dunlin is the commonest small wader found along the coast and can be seen on all UK estuaries with the largest numbers in winter. During winter they feed in large flocks on estuaries with mudflats, saltmarsh and coastal lagoons as well as inland lakes and sewage farms.

Dunlin breed on the wet upland moors of Scotland, Wales and England and also the wet grassland machair of the Western Isles, Orkney and Shetland and the Flow Country of Caithness and Sutherland.
