Yellowhammer

Yellowhammers favour open country such as farmland with hedgerows and bushes, heaths, commons and areas of scrubland. In winter they can be found on farmland, especially stubble fields and winter crop fields.

Yellowhammers can be found across the UK but are least abundant in the north and west.

Its recent population decline make it a "Red List" species.

This Yellowhammer was feeding in roadside hedges and verges and allowed close views.
